FONDERIE di SEREGNO was founded in 1922 by Francesco Picchiottini, in Seregno (20 km north of Milan), for the production of quality cast iron and aluminum castings.

The name of the company was changed to OFFICINE & FONDERIE di SEREGNO after the foundry was joined by a workshop dedicated to mechanical processing and the production of sheet metal working machines.

In the 1970s the foundry began to produce ductile iron castings, including sheaves for ropes and in 1975 the workshop began the production of lifting blocks, barrel blocks and swivels under the “OFS” brand. Due to the excellent quality of the products, in a short time, we were able to move from supplying the individual end user to mass production for the main crane and mobile crane manufacturing companies.

At the end of 1997, OFFICINE & FONDERIE di SEREGNO moved to a more functional location and the following year, only three months after the drafting of the Quality Manual, ISO 9001 certification was obtained through the Italian Naval Register (Ri.Na. ), becoming the first company in Italy to be certified in such a short time. Demonstrating the fact that quality has always been in our DNA.

Our continuous growth has spurred us to also improve our environmental protection policy and in 2011 we obtained ISO 14001 certification.

Our product offering varies from cast iron, nylon and steel sheaves of all sizes, hook-blocks, including motorized ones, swivels of all types, hooks, Spreader Beams, beams and also adjustable quickdraws.

Our products are used in a wide variety of industries, all with their own set of critical factors. The target markets of O.F.S. include: the truck crane, overhead crane, port, offshore, pipeline and gas, steelworks and foundry, oil, nuclear, drilling and piling sectors.
